9466 Locomotive Update:

The Howells family is delighted to announce that GWR Hawksworth Pannier Tank 9466 is now owned by Jonathan Jones-Pratt and will shortly make her way to her new home in West Somerset. We would like to thank all who have followed her, enjoyed her, worked on her or driven her. We hope that you will continue to follow her new adventure, including through this website, and wish Jonathan much happiness and pleasure under his ownership.

The family would like to pay tribute to Dennis Brynley Howells MBE, who painstakingly restored and loved her from the rusty, dilapidated wreck in Barry scrapyard to a magnificent locomotive that has been admired and sought after for most of his lifetime. His engineering expertise and drive to succeed pushed him forward when many said it was impossible to achieve. Many found him inspirational and sought his advice, always willing given. For a few, he was a loyal and trusted friend who they still sadly miss and I thank them for their friendship with him and their loyalty to the family. RIP Dennis!!

Good bye from the Howells family.

If you would like to make a donation in Dennis’ memory, to the hospice where he died, this is still possible on the Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dennis-brynley-howells-mbe.
