The south end of Neasden Steam Shed seen from the footplate of 9466 - 10 May 2004. It is with great sadness that we report the demise of the Metropolitan Steam Shed at the north end of Metronet's Neasden Depot, as it no longer exists in its original form and cannot accommodate rolling stock anymore. The tracks leading to the shed have been removed and the roof dismantled as a project gets underway to transform the old building into a new training facility for the modern Underground. The 9466 Locomotive Group first became acquainted with the Steam Shed in the summer of 1989, when the locomotive was based there for the first Steam on the Met event. Many return visits for subsequent SotM events culminated with 9466 taking up permanent residence between 2002 and 2004 for the duration of its last overhaul. This page is our little memorial to a building that will always have a special place in our hearts and which was also our home for just a short while. The Group would like to see this page grow. So if any visitors to this site have suitable pictures of the Steam Shed, we would like to offer space here for others to view them. Please contact the Webmaster at the link below. Thank you.
